The Quinebaug River is the control location where the majority of our fishing products and wet grip compounds are tested. The river flows through southern Massachusetts and Conneticut but we test primarly in a section of the river in Sturbridge, MA.
Wachusett Mountain has an approximate 1600 foot elevation at the summit and has multiple trails riddled with sharp granite. It is in close proximity to the Vibram USA office in Concord, this allows the Vibram USA Tester Team to bring product to Wachusett for a quick durability test.
Purgatory Chasm is a unique rock formation located in Sutton Massaachusetts. Purgatory offers a wide range of angled rock faces with sharp edges making it an ideal location for both slip and durability testing.
Cook's Canyon is a wildlife sanctuary in Barre Massachusetts. There are numberous trails around a brook which flows through a ravine and may be best known for the waterfall that is created when the brook flows over the dam. The steep sides of the smooth rock ravine coupled with overgrowth of algae and moss make Cook's Caynon an extreme place to slip test new designs and rubber compounds.
